Frequently Asked Questions

We are often asked about our fees and if we accept insurance, please read below to learn more about this.

Professional Fees Charged

  • Initial Therapy Intake

    • (first visit excluding immigration evaluations and reunification therapy) 60 minutes - $200

  • Individual Psychotherapy Appointment

    • 45 to 50 minutes (ongoing treatment)  - $150

  • Family Therapy/Couples Counseling

    • 50 minutes - $175

  • Groups

    • 60 minutes - $25

  • ESA Letter Evaluation and Letter Writing

    • $150 for all work

    • Letter is valid for 1 year

  • Initial Medication Appointment

    • Up to 60 minutes - $300

  • Medication Management Check-in Appointment

    • 15 to 30 minutes - $200

  • Immigration Evaluation & Assessment 

    • $1000

    • Up to 2 evaluation sessions & comprehensive report provided to you and your attorney.

    • You must schedule this appointment with us directly and not through the portal.

  • Reunification Therapy

    • Rate is billed at $200/hr for all appointments.

    • You must schedule this type of therapy directly with the office and not through the portal.

    • Court Testimony is billed at $300/hour in increments of 2 hours starting at time ordered to to report to time completed.

      • Example: Ordered to testify at 9 am but testimony does not start until 11:30 am and lasts until noon. You will be billed for a total of 4 hours.

**Of note: Cancellations under 24 hours, and no-shows day of appointments are subject to a cancellation fee of the full amount charged for the appointment**

Insurance

In order to provide comprehensive treatment tailored to each patient, Boston Psychotherapy & Counseling Services does not accept insurance directly.

 

If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, we are happy to submit your visits directly to the insurance company for reimbursement back to you. There is not a guarantee that your plan will reimburse.

Unfortunately at this time we are unable to submit out of network claims for any MassHealth/Medicaid Plans or individuals with Medicare.
